SokoMoto began as Regular Folks, a small Diani apparel label giving everyday pieces an African touch.
The clothes did well with visitors and locals alike. But people kept asking the same thing at the counter: where do we find the rest of Kenya to take home? The carvings, the beadwork, the kiondo baskets, a piece of art, and while they were here, a sunset on the water or a day on the reef.
So we grew into something bigger. Soko means market. Moto means fire. SokoMoto is one place for the souvenirs, the style, and the experiences of the Kenyan coast, handpicked and handmade, for travellers taking a memory home and locals who want the real thing.
Regular Folks did not go anywhere. It lives on as our in-house apparel line, the clothing corner of a much bigger store.
